On top of its vintage charm, I found the services were generous and the staff were all very nice. I arrived early due to my air travel schedule, expecting to spend time somewhere else until I could check in. When I got there, my room was ready and they let me in my room with no problem. The staff asked me if I would like a cup of coffee, so I asked for tea and water, which she got me with no charge! Its famous restaurant was playing one of the jazz classics which was perfect with the hotel atmosphere. The room was so quiet and peaceful. Its neighborhood felt safe to walk around and there are many nice restaurants within walking distance. It’s only 10 minutes away by car from UMN where I went to see my son. I am glad I chose this hotel rather than those by UMN. If you appreciate a vintage style and want a quiet special time, I would recommend this place. The price was reasonable even during the high season.

Beautiful property and beautiful building. Good food places 5-10 minutes away (listed in a helpful guest book) we went to the Aster Café which was a quick walk and Pizza Lucé which was a quick drive downtown. The staff were nice and there was complimentary coffee each morning. Quiet, not many other guests that we saw while staying there. They were very accommodating with the additional requests prior to our stay and check-in/check-out was quick and easy. The room had a physical key rather than a card like most modern hotels and I loved it. However, that means there's only one key.

The inn is beautiful and we loved the histric character and ismall size. We didn't have breakfast at the inn but had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant were lovely. Beautiful view, attentive staff - we felt well-taken-care-of. Our room was wonderful - loved those huge shuttered windows that opened to a romantic river view. Inviting linens and nice toiletries. We had a great walk in the morning along the river. The location was also so convenient to our event- a 3 minute wait for an Uber and a ten-minute ride there.

This is a charming place. I had stayed there once before and wanted to share the experience with my wife. The inn is lovely, and we scored a corner room overlooking a bit of the Mississippi River and a tree-lined park. The room was beautifully appointed and spacious, the bed very comfortable. And the windows open. Also, the location for Minneapolis is almost unbeatable. First, the island itself is lovely. You are within steps of downtown Minneapolis and even fewer steps of the neighborhoods that are on the East side of the Mississippi. All in all, perfect.

The light breakfast was okay and worked for us as early risers. The first night, we were on Room 312, a bad room. The temporary air conditioning fix was a large portable vented out the only window with cardboard and duct tape. Because it stayed warm outside, we had to run the AC all night. It was so noisy, we slept little. We were fortunate that your Friday morning deskperson was able to move us across the hall to Room 310 for our remaining six nights. We enjoyed the Aquacentennial fireworks show from our room. It was spectacular.
